Dominican Republic

Nestled in a safe and peaceful community, our Journey Center in the Dominican Republic is a 5,000 sq. ft. haven of healing, hope, and restoration. Serving as a short-term safe house, this center is dedicated to rescuing and nurturing girls between the ages of 7 and 15 who have survived unimaginable trauma—including human trafficking, forced child prostitution, and other forms of abuse.

At the Journey Center, girls may stay up to six months or until the government secures a permanent placement. During this critical window of recovery, each girl receives wraparound support including individual and group therapy, private education, medical care, and daily emotional nurturing. We also provide acute vocational training and English language classes to begin rebuilding self-worth and unlocking future possibilities.

Our goal is simple but profound: to remind every child that she is seen, valued, and destined for a life far greater than the pain she has endured. The Journey Center is more than a shelter—it’s a place of new beginnings.

GHAna

The Journey Center in Ghana is a vibrant sanctuary of love, healing, and possibility. Housed in a beautiful, welcoming home, this full-time residential program serves over 50 children each month—many of whom have been rescued from unimaginable circumstances, including homelessness, abuse, abandonment, and in some cases, even life in the garbage.

From the tiniest newborns to university-bound young adults, each child is met with dignity, compassion, and the care they so deeply deserve. We provide safe shelter, access to quality education, comprehensive medical support, and ongoing spiritual development rooted in faith and hope.

At the Journey Center, children don’t just survive—they begin to thrive. Surrounded by dedicated caregivers, teachers, and mentors, they are nurtured toward a future filled with purpose and opportunity. More than a residence, the Ghana Center is a living testimony of God’s love in action.

kenya

The Journey Center in Kenya is a beacon of restoration and empowerment for young girls who have survived early pregnancy, forced child marriage, or other traumatic experiences. Our one-year vocational training program is designed to help them reclaim their future with dignity and skill.

Each student receives hands-on training in one of two career paths: Hair & Beauty or Fashion Design & Dressmaking. Certified instructors lead both classroom instruction and practical workshops, preparing the girls not just with technical skills but with the confidence to succeed. As part of the program, students complete a one-month internship in the community with local
salons or fashion houses, gaining valuable work experience.

Recognizing that many of our students are young mothers, we also provide on-site licensed childcare, ensuring their children are cared for in a safe and nurturing environment while their mothers learn and grow.

Beyond vocational training, the curriculum includes basic business and marketing education, empowering graduates to pursue entrepreneurship or sustainable employment. Every student also takes arts and crafts, where they learn to create handcrafted items like jewelry, handbags, soaps, and lotions—expanding their creative expression and income-generating skills.

Upon graduation, each young woman is equipped not just with hope, but with the tools, resources, and support she needs to begin her journey as a skilled professional, entrepreneur, and community changemaker.

france

The Journey Center France program addresses the extreme homelessness crisis in France through a comprehensive and a holistic approach. We partner with local agencies that provide daily hot meals, hot showers, and other essential services. Through our partnership the participants are able to receive drug and alcohol counseling, immigration support, temporary housing, job placement assistance, and identification recovery services. Many of the systemic issues these young people faces are directly tied to the lack of proper identification, and we work actively to help them secure the documents they need to move forward.

We operate a warehouse distribution center where participants can receive personal hygiene items such as sanitary products, baby care essentials like diapers and wipes, as well as tents, sleeping bags, and seasonal clothing. These resources are life-saving for those sleeping on the streets.

Our mission is to restore dignity and reduce the sense of hopelessness among every participant. Through collaborative efforts, each partnership with The Journey Center creates life-changing impact—both individually and collectively. As a Program Partner, your support makes this possible. Without your partnership, this impact cannot happen.
